Brief history

I´ve always had a thing for languages and an eye for creative digital creations. I decided that marketing was the perfect practice to combine the two. That´s when I started my studies International Business and Languages. Here I learned to do business in an international environment and to take other cultures into account when doing business. I also improved my English and German greatly and learned a little bit of Spanish. I was also taught about the basics of marketing and marketing communications.

It wasn´t until later I started putting my knowledge to practice. During my internships I researched foreign markets and created a full implementations based on marketing and communication.

I also worked as an Online Marketing Assistent for Creative Group. Here I learned the basics about SEO and Linkbuilding.

Later on I started to really dive into SEO, writing for SEO and marketing through social media.

Nowadays

At my current position at Iquality I combine all these skills and put them to practice as the sole Online Marketeer in the company. I also have full ownership over the content calender and I´m Product Owner for various projects. I´m also responsible for event planning for marketing and sales purposes.

What I love

On a more personal note: I am crazy about my two cats Nox and Luna, and traveling. Next to marketing and content creation, I can truly say that traveling is one of my biggest passions. This is why I created my travel blog Mellie Days. Here I can combine my love for creating content and traveling the world.

In my spare time you can find me reading a good book, working out in the gym, writing articles for my blog, tweaking my website or spending time with my family and friends.

Languages

I love to learn new languages. Learning a new language and discovering the simularities and differences with other languages triggers me to find out more. The way a language can have a particular word that doesn’t exist in other languages, can say a lot about the culture of the people who speak that language. What amazes me, is that a language is so much more than words put into a sentence.

During my studies, through courses and by self studies I learned multiple languages. The languages I speak and understand on a more professional level are Dutch, English and German. I also learned the basics of French, Turkish and Spanish.
